Eco-friendly travel to the Altstadt Vienna
As the 1st hotel in Vienna to be awarded the Austrian Eco Seal, we are always pleased when you decide to leave your car at home. The Altstadt Vienna is in easy walking distance of all major Viennese attractions. For example, we are only around 5 minutes' walk from the Museumsquartier.
From the airport to the Altstadt Vienna
Approximately every 20 - 30 minutes, a bus, train (S7) or the CAT (City Airport Train) runs to the City Air Terminal ("Wien Mitte" station). The fare is between EURO 6 and 10 per person, with the trip taking from 16 (with CAT) to 30 minutes.
Once there, you have a direct connection by underground (line U3 in the direction of Ottakring) to the Volkstheater station. Please take the Burggasse exit, then walk away from the city center (ca. 4-6 mins.) along the Burggasse. After the 2nd stoplight make a right onto Kirchengasse, and you will then find us immediately on the left side of the street (grey roof above the entrance).
We would also be more than happy to make arrangements on your behalf for airport pick-up / shuttle. In this case, the charge is EURO 40 (up to 4 people, 5 or more Euro 50). The ride takes ca. 20 - 30 mins. Simply provide us with information about your air carrier, flight number as well as arrival date/time.
Coming by train?
From Vienna "Westbahnhof"
Take the U 3 underground in the direction of Simmering and get off at the Volkstheater. Here, follow signs for the Burggasse exit. Make a left onto Burggasse and walk away from the city center for about 5 minutes, then take a right onto Kirchengasse. A small grey roof will show you the entrance, where we look forward to greeting you.
From Vienna "Hauptbahnhof"
Take bus 13A in the direction of Alserstraße/Skodagasse. After a ride lasting about 20 minutes, you will come to the Kellermanngasse. Walk back along the route you have just come for about 50 meters and you will be in front of your hotel at No. 41 Kirchengasse.
As our small thank-you for choosing to use eco-friendly transportation to get here, we wish to invite you to join us for some small refreshments. Simply let us know when you expect to arrive.
