The comerc store manager about the village Vienna and her music addiction
What do you like about the area? Why are you in the 7th district?
I am here because the 7th district is just like a little village in the big city and everybody seems to know each other. Sundays at the bakery „hello!“...sundays while fetching the newspaper "hello", „hello, postman!“ (...I don’t know his name)
What can one buy in your store? What is your passion behind it?
Like a real Viennese would call it: Å Fetzngschäft. (a store for clothes, Viennese).
High end clothes, but still. We also sell some very exclusive perfumes, besides your new look.
All jokes aside. We set great value on a well curated selection of meaningful brands, that were previously not available in Vienna, respectively Austria. I guess, the best term for it would be "contemporary-culture". A good example for that is HAN KJØBENHAVN, one of the most creative labels when it comes to fashion shows.
Another one would be the arthouse perfumery Folie Á Plusieurs from New York. As self-confessed perfume junkie I would call it my very own Comerc baby, putting my whole heart and soul into it. The founder Kaya Sorhaindo works with the concept „Making scents of non-scents“, taking her inspiration from film, music or sexual phantasies.
Word Rap about Vienna
Only in Vienna:
Better somewhere else:
Friendly people. On Tu/We/Th/Fr/Sa/Su.
And the whole week in cafés.
Zuckergoscherl and Scherzkrapferl (sorry, not translatable)
Nudelaug and Blunzn! (sorry, also very Viennese. Not translatable)
When it get's dark:
Not in any tourist guide:
Your most favorite places:
Parfümerie, Luster Bar, Zur Stadt Krems, Hotel am Brillantengrund, Zweitbester, Der Fuchs und die Trauben and Wolfgang Coffee, when it come to culinary delights.
QWSTION across the street. Substance & Market, two record shops that provide Vienna and myself with the best music. Everyone who knows me is aware that I am a bit of a music nerd and that it is an essential part of my life and at work.
And, most of all: the stairs in front of our shop in summer. We’ve had the most fun evenings and the best spontaneous meetings that can last until late.
Westbahnstrasse, with all its members.
You can skip, although in the guide?
Madame Tussauds – although I would really love to steal that sexy wig from Herbert Prohaska (a famous Austrian soccer player).
What do you love about the city?
„Hello, postman“ (sorry, I still don’t know his name)
