The people who stay with us, make the Altstadt what it is. A refuge of the Viennese attitude towards life, a place of joy and happiness. On the occasion of our 25th anniversary, we asked 25 of those companions, regular guests, artists, designers,... to describe their very personal Altstadt experience.
Susi Schellhorn, together with her husband Sepp, runs the Seehof in Goldegg. Her love for detail is clearly tangible in every room there, creating a very individual, very pleasurable atmosphere. A meeting place for intellectuals, artists and those in search of a peaceful retreat. The Seehof Suite, which was designed by Susi Schellhorn, brings a piece of Goldegg to Vienna.
Describe the feel of the Altstadt Vienna.
For me, the Altstadt is my “HOME” in Vienna. The 7th District is also my favorite part of the city. I feel more comfortable here than anywhere else.
Which is your favorite room?
My favorite room is the “SEEHOF SUITE”.
When and how did your relationship with the Altstadt Vienna begin?
My relationship with the Altstadt began some 20 years ago, when I first spent a weekend with my family in what is today the “Lena Hoschek Suite”. The concept, the art, the sense of freedom within this house, remind me to this day of the atmosphere we have at the Seehof.
Describe the Altstadt Vienna in one word.
You don’t just feel comfortable at the Altstadt Vienna, you have the feeling you are staying in your “own apartment” at the hotel, but without having anything to take care of. Thanks to Otto and his wonderful team!
