Austria is on lockdown - and yet life goes on. Therefore, we keep the Altstadt open for all business travelers and people with urgent housing needs. As from 13.12. we may welcome all of you with us again. The only condition: You are recovered or vaccinated.
The 2-G Rule
Vaccinated or recovered?
After the lockdown, which will end latest on 13.12.2021 the 2-G rule applies in Vienna again for everyone over the age of 12. That means you must be proven recovered or double vaccinated for a hotel stay. We kindly ask you to have the confirmation ready for your check-in. Your first vaccination in combination with a valid PCR test is equivalent to a 2-G detection for up to 4 weeks. Other than that, antibody or PCR tests are no longer valid evidence of a low epidemiological risk.
Where can I get a PCR test?
If you are planning to visit the theater, the opera or to go out partying you may get tested at FasTest at Mariahilferstrasse or at Kärntnerstrasse and you will receive a result within 2 hours at the cost of 89,- Euro. More details here. You can also take a free test (result within 24h) as part of the initiative "alles gurgelt". Gargle test kits are available at the reception. They can be dropped off at all Rewe stores (Billa, Billa Plus, Penny). More details here. Furthermore, you can do a free PCR test in a gargle box just around the corner or at many other locations in Vienna and you will receive your result within 24h,
How about my children?
For children from 6 to 11 years, the 3-G rule applies. Children aged 6 and older are usually tested at school ("Ninja Pass"). In this case, a PCR test is valid for 72 hours, an antigen test for 48 hours. The negative test result is valid for the entire week for children under 12 years of age with a fully completed "Ninja Passport", including Saturdays and Sundays.
For children between 12 and 15 years of age, the 2.5-G rule applies; they must be considered either recovered, vaccinated, or PCR-tested.
For children 15 years and older, a 2-G proof is required. 2-G means fully vaccinated or recovered. However, there is a transition period until December 6, 2021. Until then, even once being vaccinated in conjunction with a PCR test is considered as 2-G. For recovered persons, the following applies: from the date of recovery, they are exempt from testing for 180 days. The certificate of isolation or a medical certificate are also valid.
FFP2 masks mandatory
Please note that FFP2 masks are mandatory again in all indoor public areas. For breakfast, tea & cake and snacks & drinks at the table in the Red Salon you may of course take it off.
