Helga und Peter Lindmoser

For 12 years Helga Lindmoser was the right hand of Otto Wiesenthal and the good soul of the Altstadt Vienna. She actually planned to retire with us. But then everything turned out differently and, after a five-year planning phase, she and her husband Peter opened the Montestyria Chalet Hotel, now in 2022. A magical place of power in the midst of untouched nature between Hochschwab and Ötscher with wonderful views of the majestic mountain landscape and the Mariazell Basilica.

Various skiing and hiking tours start directly from the mountain village. The nearest ski slope is only a few minutes walk. In summer, Lake Erlaufsee attracts with a private beach. Hospitality and great service are a top priority at Montestyria, just like it is for us at the Altstadt. Upon arrival, a bottle of bubbles is already waiting for you. In the afternoon, cake, coffee and tea are served. 

"We wanted to create places that offer complete relaxation. Places of power that strengthen our guests and where they can perceive nature with all their senses," says hostess Helga. We think the two of them have succeeded wonderfully with this goal and are delighted to find so much joyous Altstadt spirit in the beautiful Mariazellerland.
