Lackner

As a creative director, Andreas Lackner is a master of staging and production. He is co-founder of the Life Ball and mastermind behind some of Europe's grandest celebrations, like the Viennese Fete Imperial or the Venetian carnival, to name a few.

For Altstadt Vienna he created rooms #53 and #56, where baroque opulence is reinterpreted and transferred into the now. A room with stylistic inconsistencies - raw concrete meets smooth elegance.

The weathered tower of the St. Ulrich church is translated onto the wall as a large-sized projected image. For Lackner, the church represents his beloved old Vienna. In contrast, the Berlin-based photo artist Joseph Fischnaller (*1964) creates alienating images of opulence. He photographs like old masters have painted. Above the headboard you can find his photography "Juliane". In room #56 his picture "Frederik" is displayed.
