General Terms and Conditions

Scope

These General Terms and Conditions (GTC) govern the contractual relationship between Hotel Altstadt Vienna – OE Wiesenthal GmbH, Kirchengasse 41, 1070 Vienna (hereinafter referred to as the "Hotel") and its guests (hereinafter referred to as the "Contracting Party"). They apply to all reservations and stays at Hotel Altstadt Vienna.

Conclusion of Contract and Deposit

A contract for accommodation is concluded upon the written or verbal acceptance of the guest’s reservation by the Hotel and becomes binding once the guest receives a written confirmation from the Hotel. The Hotel may request a deposit of up to 100% of the total contract amount and reserves the right to authorize or charge the provided credit card at any time after booking to guarantee the reservation.

Check-in and Check-out

The booked rooms are available from 3:00 PM on the day of arrival. On the day of departure, rooms must be vacated by 12:00 PM. In case of a late departure, an additional day may be charged.

Cancellation Policy

A free cancellation is possible until the deadline specified in the reservation. After this deadline or in case of early departure, 100% of the total amount stated in the reservation confirmation will be charged.

Payment and Prices

All prices are in Euros and include statutory VAT. The Hotel accepts cash, debit cards, and common credit cards. Additional services and products consumed on-site, such as minibar, bar consumption, parking, or tickets, must be paid at check-out. If this is not done, the Hotel reserves the right to charge any outstanding amounts – including for overnight stays, tickets, parking, bar or minibar consumption – to the credit card provided as a guarantee.

Hotel Services

The room rate includes a buffet breakfast with organic and regional specialties, Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, and a Nespresso machine in every room. From 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, homemade cake and tea are available in the Red Salon. For guests arriving by car, the Hotel offers discounted parking cards for the nearest public parking garage in the MuseumsQuartier. Parking cards are issued upon arrival and must be returned at check-out. A fee of €100 will be charged in case of loss. Parking cards are subject to availability.

Children

Children aged 3 and older are considered adults for billing purposes.

Pets

Dogs are welcome upon request. A cleaning fee of €20 per day applies. Pets may only enter breakfast and lounge areas with prior approval.

Rights and Obligations of the Contracting Party

The Contracting Party is obliged to pay the agreed amount, as well as additional costs for consumed services, no later than at the time of departure. If payment is not made, the Hotel reserves the right to charge outstanding amounts, such as for tickets, parking, or other consumptions, to the credit card provided as a guarantee. The Contracting Party is liable for damages caused by them or their accompanying persons, which will be invoiced accordingly.

Liability and Valuables

The Hotel is liable for damages or losses only within the scope of statutory provisions. Valuables can be stored in the safe at the reception or in the in-room safe. A fee of €250 will be charged in case of loss of a room key.

Smoking Policy

The entire hotel is a non-smoking property. A cleaning fee of €250 will be charged for any violations.

Alternative Accommodation

The Hotel may provide the Contracting Party with reasonable alternative accommodation if this is deemed acceptable, particularly if the difference is minor and justified. A justification may include situations where the reserved room(s) become unusable or operational necessities require a change.

Conduct in the Hotel

The Contracting Party is required to adhere to the Hotel’s house rules. Special attention should be paid to respecting other guests, such as by avoiding excessive noise. In cases of serious violations of house rules or criminal offenses, the Hotel is entitled to terminate the accommodation contract with immediate effect.

Place of Performance, Jurisdiction, and Applicable Law

The place of performance is Vienna. This contract is subject to Austrian law. The exclusive place of jurisdiction for all disputes is Vienna.

Miscellaneous

Should individual provisions of these GTC be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall not be affected. In the event of regulatory gaps, the corresponding statutory provisions shall apply. If no regulation is provided in these GTC, the General Terms and Conditions for the Austrian Hotel Industry (AGBH) of the Austrian Hotel Association (ÖHV) in their current version shall apply.
