A portal by artist Martina Mara Braun (* 1955) leads you into a suite that is spun along a thematic read thread. Designed by the Austrian architect Roland Nemetz, this suite is dedicated to the theatre. Not only because of its location - rehearsal spaces of the adjacent Off Theater are located in the courtyard. A built in bar stands opposite of a comfortable seating group by architect Roland Rainer and dates back to the 50s where it was originally bought for the iconic cafe Ritter.
A post-war desk by Soziales-Wohnen-Möbel reminds one of dressing tables as they could be found in theaters of the golden 20s; heavy red curtains and lamps by Tom Dixon finally transports the visitor into the glamorous world of show business.
Do you also want to stay in a suite like #65? It is a Suite M. You can find out more about Roland Nemetz and his architectural firm planB Architektur here. In the course of his long-standing collaborative effort with the Altstadt Vienna, Nemetz established together with his bureau planB Architektur a triumvirate of arts. Visit the counterparts of the Theatre Suite: the Opera Suite #34 and the Library Suite #35 are located on the first floor.
