Tour #14
Where Frank and Hoffmann bid each other good night
In collaboration with the Lower Austrian furniture manufacturer Wittmann, fashion designer Arthur Arbesser has transformed Room #14 into a vibrant art space that merges Viennese Art Nouveau with Italian design – a clear homage to one of his personal heroes: Josef Frank.

Room #14 puts two colours centre stage: a rich saffron yellow and a deep, intense blue. Arbesser associates them with Viennese Art Nouveau, which was heavily influenced by architect Josef Hoffmann. Wittmann is authorised by the Josef Hoffmann Foundation to produce his original designs – which is why you’ll find the iconic Kubus armchair and the charming Fledermaus chair in this room. Bringing vibrant contrast to Hoffmann’s clean lines is the colourful Flowers fabric, which Arbesser designed for Wittmann as a tribute to Josef Frank. The Sticks Tables by Jaime Hayon for Wittmann serve as bedside tables and round off the room’s colour palette to perfection.

For over 20 years, Arthur Arbesser has lived and worked in Milan, where he also runs his design studio. With Italian design icons like the Quaderna desk by Superstudio, the Imbuto floor lamp by Luigi Caccia Dominioni, and the legendary Snoopy lamp by the Castiglioni brothers, the fashion designer pays tribute to his adopted home. And the striped bathroom? A bold graphic statement – just like Arbesser’s fashion.
