Every room at Altstadt Vienna is one of a kind – quite literally, as each exists only once. That’s why we can’t guarantee a specific room. But we’ll happily make a note of your favourite and do our very best to have you wake up exactly where you hoped.

Our breakfast (6:30 am–11:00 am on weekdays and 7:00 am–11:30 am on weekends) and daily Tea Time with homemade cake are included, as are bicycles, subject to availability. In your room, you’ll find complimentary Wi-Fi, a coffee machine, bathrobe and slippers, yoga mat, Lederhaas toiletries, Bluetooth speaker, safe, hairdryer, air conditioning and heating.

And always included: our lovely A-Team, here around the clock with tips, answers and a helping hand whenever you need one.

Most of our rooms and suites are designed for two guests. Travelling with family or friends? Just let us know and we’ll be happy to arrange rooms close to one another whenever possible.

For more space, our Grete Wiesenthal Suite #79 and United Nations Suite #73 & #74 offer two bedrooms. Another option is our Orient Express bunk-bed room, which connects to Large Double Room #56.

For babies and toddlers up to the age of three, we provide a travel cot free of charge in any double room or suite. For older children, teenagers or adults, an extra bed can be added to our suites for €60 per night.

Very much so! 🐾 Just let us know when booking or before you arrive that your four-legged companion is coming along. We’ll prepare a suitable room and, of course, a cosy little bed for your dog. We charge €25 per dog, per night.

Yes. We have one accessible Medium Double Room (#18), with features including adapted light switches and bathroom fittings. However, the room is fairly compact and located at the end of a long corridor, so it may not be the most convenient option for guests using a wheelchair.

Altstadt Vienna is located at the foot of Spittelberg, right in Vienna’s 7th district. The MuseumsQuartier and Mariahilfer Straße, Vienna’s longest shopping street, are about a 5-minute walk away. The Hofburg, City Hall and Parliament can be reached in around 10 minutes on foot, while the Vienna State Opera and St. Stephen’s Cathedral are about a 20-minute walk away. Volkstheater underground station (U2 and U3) is just a 5-minute walk from the hotel, and the independent restaurants, bars, galleries and shops of the 7th district are practically on our doorstep. Tickets for Vienna’s public transport network are available at our reception. If you’re already using public transport to reach the hotel, it may be worth buying a 24-hour ticket or 7-day ticket before you arrive. Digital Wiener Linien tickets are cheaper than their printed equivalents from ticket machines.

Your room will be ready by 3 pm on the day of arrival – and quite often, we can get you settled in earlier. Just let us know your approximate arrival time in advance. If your room isn’t ready yet, you’re more than welcome to leave your luggage with us. We’ll take it up to your room and let you know as soon as everything is ready. A guaranteed early check-in may also be available for an additional charge, subject to availability. Just drop us a line or give us a call and we’ll see what we can do.

Yes. Someone from our A-Team is here for you around the clock, so a late-night arrival, an urgent question or a very early departure is no problem at all. We still appreciate a quick heads-up about your arrival or departure time – that way, we can make sure everything is ready for you.

Our rooftop terrace is located on the second lift floor and is open to all hotel guests during the summer months. A little hideaway above the rooftops, made for taking a break between one Vienna adventure and the next.

Our daily Tea Time is a little Altstadt tradition. Every afternoon from 4 to 6 pm, we serve our hotel guests tea and homemade cake in the Red Salon – all included in your stay. The perfect excuse to put your feet up after a day in Vienna, browse through a book or simply have another slice of cake. No judgement here. 😉

Absolutely. We have six bicycles available to our hotel guests free of charge. First come, first served – just ask our A-Team and off you go.

A hotel bar: yes. A traditional restaurant: no. Our Red Salon is living room, breakfast room and hotel bar all in one. After Tea Time, our salons turn into a cosy bar for the evening – perfect for a seasonal cocktail, a glass of Austrian wine or a little something to eat.

For a proper dinner, you’ll find a fantastic selection of restaurants just around the corner. And, of course, our A-Team will happily share their personal favourites.
